From “it’s only the two of us” on our wedding day to our cruise and everything after, you’ve been my calm, my teammate, and my home.
Happy 1-year anniversary, Sam. I keep thinking about our wedding day and how you got me through it. Kissing you after we were pronounced Husband & Wife was one of my favorite moments. When my nerves hit, you brought me back to us and reminded me it was only the two of us. You helped me breathe, helped me stop staring at people, and made everything feel okay. Then came to our awesome wedding dance we practiced and as you know I made sure I made myself try hard to share that awesome moment with you.
And then we went on that cruise and had an absolute blast. It’s one of my favorite memories, and it made me want a lifetime of adventures with you. Whether it’s another cruise or some random trip we plan last minute, I just love doing life with you.
After February, things got hard. The layoff and being unemployed has had me down, but you have been my steady place. Knowing how hard you work pushes me to keep going and keep trying even harder. I want my turn to take care of you, the way I’ve always planned to, because we are partners and you’ve been there for me for 12+ years.
I’m proud to be your partner in crime for the ups & downs. You make me the happiest person when you said yes at the day of our proposal. It took us ten years, but we did it. And even while we’re still working through obstacles, I know as long as we stay positive, we’ll get through anything.
