Overview
I was the lead designer for the City of Santa Ana’s 150th Anniversary project. The goal was to create a comprehensive branding and marketing campaign that celebrated the city’s history and engaged the community.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead Designer: Designed all assets for multiple city-wide projects, including logos, banners, web design, and accessibility features.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Worked with multiple city departments to ensure a unified and inclusive visual identity.
- Content Creation: Developed infographics, charts, and graphs for PowerPoint presentations, and designed weekly city newsletters.
Process
- Planning and Coordination: Collaborated with city officials to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Design and Development: Utilized Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects to create visually engaging and accessible designs.
- Implementation and Outreach: Deployed the designs across various platforms, including physical and virtual marketing materials and social media.
- Feedback and Iteration: Collected feedback from residents and city officials to refine and improve the designs.
Outcome
- The 150th Anniversary campaign was a success, with high engagement from the community and positive feedback from stakeholders. The weekly newsletters and marketing materials effectively communicated the city’s initiatives and events to over 300,000 residents.
